Serenity Stables mission:
Raise awareness of the mutual benefits to horse and humans in transforming the impact from trauma on the nervous system. Create access and opportunities for equine assisted services; equine-assisted therapy and volunteer opportunities, peer recovery and post traumatic growth.
Raising awareness about America's wild horses and the risk they face when sold ending up in the slaughter pipeline , shipped out of the country for human consumption.
Adults seeking alternatives to office based talk therapies while recovering from the impact of sexual exploitation, people harmed by other humans, losses, first responders, opioid overdose survivors and covid added to our collective community trauma, ICE, community violence, veterans and families impacted by deployments. Many experience post-traumatic growth and add recovery capital using what they learn from the Polyvagal Ponies.

Why Horses?
Our Founder
When I was 10 years old my parents divorced, mthey both remarried and had more children. I was the youngest of three girls, neglected, abused and alone much of the time. I alsway loved horses and wanted one badly, got books about them at the library and we moved into a house with a barn and my mother and stepfather got me a horse, Charlie. The expereince I had with Charlie was a big part of getting through those years. As a teen I was interested in other teens and spent less time with Charlie. My mother sold him to a family she thought he would get more time from. I told myself someday I would have another horse and I would have someone help me take care of him.Fast forward 50 years! Ive become a trauma specialist and have wabyted toi lkearn wqyube assisted therapy and began to explore the different modality to see how they fit. I went to Eponoquest in Arizona to learn connection focused therapy with Linda Kahanova and Rebecca Bailey. The herd was intuitive and lovely and the expereince was wonderful. I digned up for Polyvagal equine institute to do the certification orifram and went to the PVEI in California and was taught methods and expereinced an amazing connection with the herd.
I continued to learn and engage with virtual meetings and also joined Natural Lifemanship which offered additonal training and tools that compliment this groundwork.
I needed to find a plave to board horse so I could adopt a mustang, I devided. It was an amzing journey and I almost bought 2 mustangs until I tried ti fund a barn to use, people would not . Try to buy ahorse without a plave to keep it? Tru to find a pkave to board without owning a horse. This was quite a projext that fell through several times. Finaly in 2025 I came across Stonewall Farms and their boarding stables
